What is a longan?
The Kohala longan is a succulent fruit that is fragrant, extremely juicy, easy to eat, and consistently outranks other varieties in taste tests.
All over Asia, the Hawaiian Islands and the Caribbean, Kohala longans are a tradition. Miami growers brought Kohala longans from Hawaii in the early 1950’s as they bear fruit of an excellent quality regularity.
The word "Longan" is derived from the word, "long nhan,", which means "dragon's eye." Longans are golden brown skinned with a translucent fruit on the inside.

A FUN FAMILY TRADITION​:
Driving into the grove is like entering a new world as you pass through each row of lush longan trees - there are over 2,000 trees that hold over 50,000 lbs. of fruit!
For families, it's an opportunity for the older generation to teach younger generations about the simple joy of walking through trees like these and gathering such a unique and delicious fruit.
You can pick it by hand, use our garden shears (with a small deposit), or have our staff pick boxes of fruit for you.
We provide boxes and carts and you can pick the amount of fruit that you would like. Visitors with special needs can be taken through the grove on our Honda ATVs. Refreshments, including cold water, are also available.
Come pick our amazing Kohala Longans and feel free to have lunch in our picnic area and stay awhile. When our visitors are done picking fruit, they don't want to leave. They're having the a blast and introducing the experience to the new generations among their families.
